Oakbridge’s safeguarding work uses Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026 and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026 as its benchmarks (KCSIE is statutory for schools and colleges; Oakbridge adopts it as good practice). Staff complete Prevent training and we apply Prevent guidance as good practice.
Oakbridge has a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). The duty number is 07871 233656, available 24 hours a day, every day, whenever a student is under Oakbridge care. Safeguarding concerns should be sent to safeguarding@oakbridgeguardians.com.
Staff, Trusted Oakbridge Adults and host family members must tell the DSL the same day about anything that could affect their suitability to work with or host children.
Our Online Safety Policy covers harmful online content and related child-protection concerns. Where a referral to the local authority is needed, Oakbridge follows that authority’s published process, including referral to the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) where required.
Host households are DBS-checked. Everyone in the household aged 16 or over must have an enhanced DBS check before hosting.
Oakbridge is working towards AEGIS accreditation for educational guardianship.
The welfare and safety of students is our highest priority.
